Focus areas

For children and adults who are struggling with chronic stress, PTSD, anxiety, or other concerns, it is important to know that there is a way forward. Therapy has sometimes been called the “talk cure”, and research shows that individuals find relief in sharing their story and concerns with a trusted professional. If you or your child would like to understand the patterns that are impacting daily life and work together to find a different way of living, I strongly encourage you to reach out for help.
I have over ten years experience working with adults, children, and families, particularly those who are going through trauma and transition. I offer empathy, non-judgment, and compassion. In short, I create a safe space in which you can explore your past, present, and create attainable goals for your future.
Life is full of challenges and disappointments, for all of us. A therapeutic relationship can help you externalize your concerns and find support in a safe way. We will talk it out, find tools to help you change patterns that you are unhappy with, and identify a way forward that is in line with who you truly are. Your future is not determined by your past.

I earned my Ph.D. in Religion, Ethics, and Public Life from Northwestern University in 2014. I am an experienced lecturer on issues related to the link “between child abuse, domestic violence, animal abuse, and elder abuse”. I am known for providing engaging and informative presentations and has a passion for teaching. I am also the co-founder and Executive Director of SafePet Ontario, a Canadian charity serving survivors of family violence, human trafficking, and their pets.
