Specializing in Adlerian psychotherapy, Liza Finlay is also an award-winning writer. Beyond the therapy room, she uses the power of the pen to heal. She is the relationship expert forToday’s Parent magazine and authors todaysparent.com’s couples’ advice column. She wrote the “Dear Liza” advice column for Family Outlook magazine. She is a regular contributor to Parents Canada magazine and provides numerous mental health articles to a wide variety of print and online publications.
Liza began studying psychology in her twenties and continued her professional development with training in Adlerian parenting practices and, now, a master’s degree in individual psychology.
In addition to practicing psychotherapy, Liza continues to be a prolific health writer. Her articles on depression, anxiety and eating disorders have won national awards. Liza has edited numerous books, children’s books and academic articles on parenting and psychology.
Liza’s areas of professional interest are individual (including adolescent), couples and career counselling. She believes strongly that we all contain the creative power to grow, change and heal.
